The Meaning of Methodology, Methods, and Algorithm

Filed under: Computer Science — ignaga @ 2:19 AM

System development methodology – a standardized development process that defines a set of activities, methods, best practices, deliverables, and automated tools that system developers and project managers are to use to develop and continuously improve information systems and software.

A method may be a mathematical operation, and IF-THEN rule, or any of the input, process, output, storage and control functions. We will use the term methods to indicated the actions an object can perform.

Algorithm is a step-by-step problem-solving procedure, especially an established, recursive computational procedure for solving a problem in a finite number of steps.
